Just Add Ink #619

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week is a themed challenge. Our challenge for you is to:

I’ve continued my love of the Season of Chic Bundle and created a masculine card for the challenge.

The two-step shell images have been stamped with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks. These shells have then been cut out.

To create the smaller shells, I took the small shell die from the Chic Dies and traced around it. I then took my Watercolour Brush and added Crumb Cake Ink to give it some definition. The shells still didn’t feel defined enough, so I opened my Early Espresso Ink and ran the shell across the pad to give it an outlined edge.

The netting-like background was created with Bermuda Bay Cardstock and the die from the Chic Dies. Amongst my images and die cuts, I’ve added some ribbon that I have frayed and bunched up.

When you don’t have DSP to match your colour combo, I like to take the matching cardstock colours and create a layout with interest – like the torn edged one I’ve gone with for this card.

Here’s what I came up with:

Freshly Made Sketches #550

Hey Everyone

There’s a new and fab sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is Jen Mitchell. Jen’s creations are gorgeous, so make sure you head over to her blog and be prepared to be wowed!

I really can’t stop using the Season of Chic Stamp Set. It’s so versatile and easy to create with!

My snowflakes were created by laying down some Bermuda Bay Ink with a Water Painter on to Basic White Cardstock. Once I had created a watercoloured area big enough for the snowflake dies and the cardstock had dried, I took my dies and cut out the snowflakes. I made sure they had a good mix of white and blue on each of them.

After I cut the panels to size, I took a Blending Brush, some Pool Party Ink and blended the cardstock. I took some Dimensionals and raised each of the panels up on the card base.

After placing each of the snowflakes on the card, I adhered the sentiments that I chose. The sentiments are from the Jingle, Jingle, Jingle Stamp Set.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #548

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday again, so that means there’s a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer this week is fabulously talented Jacquie Southas. Head over to her blog and see her gorgeous creations.

I really love her simple design. The possibilities are endless with this layout. I’d added layers and details to the strip down the edge of my card – coz that’s just how i role really!

The products I’ve used on my card are from the Season of Chic Bundle. This bundle consists of the Season of Chic Stamp Set and Chic Dies. The die cut I’ve added to the background is one of my favourites atm. The texture is a fab addition to my layering.

The flowers have been stamped in Black Stazon Ink and have been coloured with the Pool Party Blends. The leaves were quickly coloured with the Crumb Cake Blends. All images have been fussy cut, rather than die cut, as I like a really, really fine edge around my images.

All images have been raised with Dimensionals and the sentiment double-raised with Dimensionals.

To add a little more interest to the card, I added some ribbon and bunched it to create texture around the flowers and adhered it with Glue Dots.

Here’s my card:

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #614

Hey Everyone

I really love the challenge at Just Add Ink this week. Our challenge for you is to:

I instantly thought the Season of Chic Stamp Set was perfect for this challenge. The shell images and dies (from the Chic Dies) work together so well. The combination of colours I’ve used on my card are Pool Party, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.

The background cardstock was watercoloured with Pool Party Ink and the ink splatters were stamped in Early Espresso Ink. Early Espresso is one of the colours that I have challenged myself to use more often. Once upon a time, it was one of my go-to colours.

The ribbon I’ve used on my card is called Natural Ribbon Trim. I cut the ribbon in half, frayed the edges and adhered around my shells with Glue Dots.

What under the sea project is complete without pearls? I added three Basic Pearls because you know I can’t do without bling.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome cards for the challenge. Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what they girls have created.

Freshly Made Sketches #546

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches for you to play along with. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema.

Once upon a time, I hoarded my designer series paper as I didn’t want to waste it. With all the gorgeous images Stampin’ Up! have printed on their papers, I don’t hesitate to fussy cut them or die cut them to add to my cards.

The flowers and leaves I’ve used on my card are from the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper pack. You can get this DSP free as part of the Wonderful World Bundle by spending $180 AU during Sale-A-Bration. The DSP circles I’ve added to the background is also from this pack.

To add a little bit of ribbon interest, I took some Natural Ribbon Trim and cut it down the centre. I then folded it back on itself and stapled one end to the Basic White Cardstock. The other end is tied with a Linen Thread bow.

The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Season of Chic Stamp Set. I chose this sentiment as it fit the best with my layout.

The Clean Team have created awesome projects for you to look at, make sure you head over to the challenge and check them out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #350

Hey Everyone

When you have a couple of spare hours on a Sunday afternoon, you craft! I created this card for the latest challenge at Global Design Project. This week they have a sketch challenge for us to create our cards:

One of the bundles I’ve been hanging to get is the Season of Chic Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue.

The stamp set and dies in this bundle have a combination of images that work for any occasion! This would have to be one of the most versatile bundles as it covers all of your crafting needs.

I’ve chosen a leaf stamp and leaves dies for my card and combined it with the lattice type die to make a card for a friend.

I started this card by taking a Blending Brush and Pool Party Ink and added some shading to the Basic White Cardstock. I then took the ink splatters stamp and Early Espresso Ink and randomly stamped over the shading. I then adhered the lattice type die cut with some Tombow Adhesive.

The leaves have been inked up with Crumb Cake Ink. Before stamping on to cardstock, I took a dauber and Early Espresso Ink and added some ink to the stamp. I then stamped it on to Basic White Cardstock and repeated the process. These leaves were then die cut out. I found some off-cut pieces of Early Espresso Cardstock and cut two leaves with the same die. After scrunching them in my hand, I added them to my card. The inked leaves were then added with Dimensionals.

The sentiment I chose for my card is also from the Season of Chic Stamp Set. This sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso Ink. I also added a torn strip of Pool Party Cardstock to peak out from under the sentiment.

To finish off my card I added a bow made with the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and three Champagne Rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by.
