Global Design Project #415

Hey Everyone

A weekend at home means I got to craft on both Saturday and Sunday!. The challenge I’ve created my card for is the theme challenge at Global Design Project. This week their theme challenge is Pattern.

I took out one of my masks from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and thought I’d try a two toned effect with the shading. The first layer I shaded was Fresh Freesia Ink. I then too my Highland Heather Ink and added touches to the top of each mosaic shape. It took longer than expected….but I liked the effect in the end.

I diecut some leaves from the Textured Floral Dies and diecut two banners from the Nested Essentials Dies. The largest one was cut with Berry Burst Cardstock. To bring more Berry Burst into the card, I matted this decorated piece of cardstock with it.

As I wanted to create a birthday card for a little girl, I took the lion image from the Little Dreamers Stamp Set and coloured it with my Crumb Cake Blends and the star with Berry Burst Blends.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project#397

Hey Everyone

I was able to play along with the latest colour challenge at Global Design Project today. This week their challenge colours are:

How pretty are they colours together?

My stamp set of choice was the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. My pansies have been stamped in a combination of all three colours for both the large and small pansies.

I added some die cuts that I had sitting on my desk from the Textured Floral Dies. I had them left over from other projects and I liked the Basic White Cardstock foliage behind the pansies.

The background was shaded with Azure Afternoon Ink, an Artistic Mix Decorative Mask and a Blending Brush.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #369

Hey Everyone

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I have had a great day chatting to crafty friends as well as creating cards for challenges. The challenge I’ve created this card for is the colour challenge at Global Design Project. Their challenge this week is a colour challenge. I really love this combo they have chosen.

I had yet to ink up the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, so this was rectified for todays card.

I inked up the leaf image with Pumpkin Pie Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I then took an Aqua Painter and moved the Pumpkin Pie Ink to create a weather leaf. I then took some Night of Navy Ink and very lightly added shading to the leaf. Once I was happy with the amount of ink I had applied, I stamped up a second one. Both images were fussy cut out.

I then stamped up the single small leaf in this set and applied the same technique of moving the ink around and adding shading. These were fussy cut out also.

The Basic White Cardstock in the background was shaded with a Blending Brush, an Artistic Mix Decorative Mask and Balmy Blue Ink. To add a little more detail to the background, I took the Dark Night of Navy Blend and flicked splatters to the shaded area.

I like a realistic look to my leaves, so I have crushed the cardstock in places and bunched up parts of the leaves and adhered them to keep their crushed look.

Thanks for stopping by.

TGIF Colour Challenge #384

Hey Everyone

I was able to create projects for a few challenges over the weekend. Love weekends like those. The card I’m sharing tonight is for the latest colour challenge at TGIF Challenges.

I created a card that features all five of the 2022-2023 In Colours. Thought I’d challenge myself and see if I could get them all on my card.

I started this card by taking a Artistic Decorative Mask and a piece of Basic White Cardstock. After sticking the cardstock and mask down with some old Washi Tape, I took a Blending Brush and all three blue In Colours – Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis & Starry Sjy- and blended over the mask to create a multi-coloured decorative background.

The final two in colours – Parakeet Party & Sweet Sorbet – were then used to give the flower and leaf images life with my blends. This gorgeous image is from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. This image was fussy cut out, even though I have the die for it… I added a couple of leafy Basic White die cuts from the matching Flowers of Home Dies.

The sentiment is also from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. I trimmed this sentiment in half to just use the thank you part of the stamp.

For a final bit of interest, I added a torn strip of Starry Sky Cardstock and added it to the edge of front panel.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #613

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday already. I can’t believe how quickly the weekends comes around! The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is a colour challenge. Take a look at the colours we have for you to play along with:

Amongst my new goodies, I ordered the Artistic Decorative Masks. I wanted to create a different background than what I normally do. I took the mask, a Blending Brush and Fresh Freesia Ink. The colour went down really easy and i shaded the cardstock randomly. I was really happy with the result.

I then stamped up the large flowers from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and watercoloured them with Starry Sky Ink and the small flowers with Fresh Freesia Ink. The leaves have been coloured with the Mint Macaron Blends. I fussy cut out all of the images and placed them around my card.

The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Black Memento Ink and die cut the sentiment out with a label die from the Natural Prints Dies. All of my images and layers have been raised with Dimensionals. Three Basic Pearls finished off my card.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome creations and all of them so varied. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
