Freshly Made Sketches #460

Hey Everyon

We have a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at her fabulous sketch:

When you want a quick and easy Christmas card, find a stamp set with matching dies. The stamp set and dies I’ve used are from the Forever Fern Bundle. I stamped the leaves in Basic Gray Ink and used the matching die to cut them out. I had the bow already coloured up sitting on my desk so all I had to do was stamp a sentiment and layer them over a Gold Hoop Embellishment. The bow and sentiment are from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set. I inked up the background with the ink splatters stamp from the Forever Fern Stamp and Smoky Slate Ink.

To give the card base some texture, I took the piece of Whisper White Cardstock and my Subtle 3D embossing folder and ran it through my cutting machine.

Here’s my card:

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Curvy Celebrations

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and a special hop the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have for you using the Curvy Celebrations products.

The Curvy Celebrations promotion is available for all of your customers to purchase from 3rd November, just in time for them to get on to their Christmas creations. These products are an exclusive release and a first glimpse of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue. I like to create in a range of colours, so my cards have the same colours to keep them consistent.

My first card is the card I created for our last hop. I created a fun fold card using the dies to create interesting edges. For this sample I used the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and Curvy Dies. This stamp set is so versatile that can be used for all occasions. The sentiment I’ve used on this card, would be perfect for a loved one, a friend or even a wedding.

For this hop I used the same curvy die I used on my fun fold card. I eyeballed how far down I wanted the curve on the Whisper White Cardstock and ran it through my cutting machine. I wanted a mix of patterned paper on my card, so I took three different pieces of Sahara Sand DSP from the Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper pack and cut them to size. I added Dimensionals to the DSP and layered them on my card.

The leaves from the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set have been stamped in Shaded Spruce and Mint Macaron Ink and then fussy cut out. I then inked up some bows, also from the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set, and coloured them with a combination of Purple Posy and Highland Heather Blends. The sentiment I’ve adhered to my card is the perfect size for layering over images and doesn’t detract from the images. Three Metallic Pearls finished off my card.

Even though this card is layered, it is quite a simple layout, but effective with the curve and the Sahara Sand Cardstock base showing through.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the projects I’ve created with these products. Make sure you click here or on the button below to continue along the hop to see what the team have all created. The next talented designer on the hop is Nina Waldschmidt.

Just Add Ink #529

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is a colour challenge. Take a look at the fabulous colours we have for you to play along with:

I’m loving this colour combo. It’s bright and fun and I thought these colours would work well for a Christmas gift or even a thank you gift.

I’ve decorated a Mini Coffee Cup with a combination of Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight Cardstock. I used the Warm Wrap Dies to decorate the outside of the cup and added some twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. I added a Whisper White Cardstock leaf die cut that I cut with my Forever Flourishing Dies. The sentiment circle that I’ve added to my cup has been stamped with a sentiment from the Warm Hugs Stamp Set. I added a pink star to the centre of the circle that was cut with a die from the Warm Wrap Dies. The sentiment is adhered to Silver Foil and Misty Moonlight circle die cuts.

I added some chocolates to a Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bag that has been tied with the gorgeous Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. This ribbon fancies up any project and I also added some twine for a bit of colour.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that I know you will love. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #459

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jennifer Brum. Jennifer is an amazing crafter who creates lovely elegant cards and fab sketches.

I adore the images in the Warm and Toasty Stamp Set. Especially this polar bear. He’s perfect for giving a quick colour and an even quicker trim. The blends that I’ve used to colour his scarf and hat are Highland Heather and Smoky Slate Blends.

I added falling snow to the background with the ink splatters stamp from the In The Pines Stamp Set and Pool Party Ink. I stamped the ink splatters stamp off once on scrap paper to create a light background of snow.

The hills that I’ve created are from a piece of DSP from the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper and a piece of Highland Heather Cardstock cut with the Pine Woods Dies. While I had the Pine Woods Dies on my desk, I cut two Whisper White Cardstock trees to finish the scene.

I played around with sentiments and ended up with Highland Heather Ink sentiments from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set. I think the solid ink sentiment works really well and stands out against the polar bear.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – In The Pines Bundle

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the latest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!

The Artisan Design Team have created projects with products from the In The Pines Bundle.  This bundle consists of a stamp set called In The Pines and dies called Pine Woods.

This was one of the bundles I HAD from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue. The stamp set is a two-step stampin’ set, so perfect for quick projects. Combine that with the dies that cut everything out, you have ultra quick cards you can produce in your classes or to send at Christmas time.

inthepines

The first card I created is a square card that features pine trees, hills and an embossed background. I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and embossed it with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I then stamped my trees with Black Memento Ink and took the matching stamp to add colour to the trees. The inks I’ve coloured my trees with are – Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz & Just Jade Inks. Once coloured I took the matching dies and cut them out.

There are two mountain dies in the set so I created to mountains – one in Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and the other in Whisper White Cardstock.  Between these layers I added another layer of Whisper White Cardstock that I tore to create a layer of snow.  I then added a strip of ribbon from the Flower for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack to add some interest. To finish off this card I added three Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

The second card I created also uses the In The Pines Stamp Set but this time instead of the two-step stamping, I coloured the trees with a combination of Blends (the colours I’ve used are listed below). Once the trees were cut with my Pine Woods Dies, I layered on my card with the same ribbon I used on my first card. This time I added three Blue Adhesive-Back Gems because I think they are so pretty!

For a different background on this card you will notice a mosaic effect look.  I decided to trim a Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bag and adhere with glue dots strategically placed under the dotted pattern on the bag. I actually like the look of the mosaic background and will try this again.

Thanks for looking at my cards. The next hop along the way is the wonderfully talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Nina and the team have created fabulous projects that will no doubt inspire you – click here or on the button below to continue along the hop.

Just Add Ink #527

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you to play along with. This week our challenge for you is a sketch challenge.

I really love the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. There are so many wonderful die cuts in this paper pack. I’ve used a combination of them my card with the gold side showing and then the wide side showing. They really jazz up a card without any hard work at all! I’ve combined these die cuts with images and sentiments from the Peace and Joy Bundle. To add some texture to my oval die cut, I ran the Whisper White Cardstock through my machine with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

The team have created wonderful cards. Pop over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #457

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the super talented Linda Callahan.

I’m continuing with Christmas cards as you can never have too many of them. The stamp set I’ve used for my card is called Peacefull Boughs Stamp Set. I stamped the boughs in Soft Suede Ink and fussy cut them out. The pine cones have been stamped with Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride Inks. For the background I daubed Blushing Bride Ink and stamped the ink splatters in Soft Suede Ink. I added some Braided Linen Trim and stamped up a sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set.

Here’s my card:

Tag Buffet Card

Hey Everyone

I managed to create another card today just for a bit of fun. I was playing around with possible cards to mass produce and ended up with this card. Not sure if I’ll keep with this one, but I’m thinking about it.

The stamp set I’ve used today is called Tag Buffet Stamp Set. I gave the bauble and stocking a quick colour and fussy cut them out. I then cut two trees with the Majestic Mountain Dies. I added a piece of DSP from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack and matted it with tilted Whisper White and Pool Party Cardstocks.

The sentiment I’ve adhered to my card is also from the Tag Buffet Stamp Set. I think I’ve said this before, that I love this stamp set just for this sentiment. Three Metallic Pearls finished off my card.

Colour Throwdown Challenge #614

Hey Everyone

Had a chance to play along with the latest colour challenge at Colour Throwdown Challenge today. This combination is a really pretty combo so I knew I had to create something this week.

The Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Warm & Toasty, has the cutest festive images as well as fabulous sentiments. I inked up the reindeer and lightly coloured it with my Crumb Cake Blends. I then took my Highland Heather Blends and coloured the bow tie.

The trees that I’ve added to my card are cut with the Pine Wood Dies and Mossy Meadow Cardstock. The DSP I used on my card is woodsy with it’s woodgrain pattern and I felt it fitted with my tree die cuts and reindeer. Highland Heather Cardstock was added and three Champagne Basic Rhinestones finished off my card.

Freshly Made Sketches #456

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch available over at Freshly Made Sketches for you to play along with. This week our sketch has been designed by the uber talented Jen Timko!

Here’s her fab sketch:

I’ve been totally distracted this week catching up on Netflix and sleeping in that I almost forgot to create a card for this challenge. I’m not overly loving this card, but it was all I could put together inbetween watching Emily in Paris…..

When you’re distracted and not really focussed on creating, let texture, DSP and die cuts do all the work! The Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper die cuts are what I used as the main focus on my card. I combined them with some pretty DSP from Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper pack.

After embossing the background Whisper White Cardstock with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, I layered it all together for a quick and easy Christmas Card.

Here’s the card I created:
