Hey Everyone
Welcome to the first challenge for Just Add Ink for 2021!
Our challenge is a fun one and it’s also a blog hop. Make sure you check out all of the teams blogs and when you’re finished, head over to Just Add Ink and link up your own project.
I created not one, but two cards for this challenge using the Forever & Always Stamp Set with the matching Always Dies.
The first card I created is a clean creation with a strip of my newest favourite DSP pack – True Love Designer Series Paper. The striped DSP is matted with Basic Black Cardstock. The flower from the Forever & Always Stamp Set has been coloured with lightly with my So Saffron and Mango Melody Blends. The flower was then fussy cut out. The leaves that I’ve added to the card are cut with the Forever Greenery Dies. Why black you might ask? I think because I like how striking they look with the yellow flower.
The diecut sentiment was cut with Always Dies. I’ve cut the sentiment in Basic Black Cardstock and used the matching mat die to create a Whisper White base for it. I then paired it with the stamped sentiments from the Forever & Always Stamp Set. As I seem to always do, I added three Gold Metallic Pearl embellishments.
I spent a bit more time on the second card as I used my new Blending Brushes to create an ombre effect background with a combination of So Saffron and Crushed Curry Inks. This was to create a sunset type background like the sunset in the inspiration picture.
The flowers were given the quickest colour with my So Saffron and Mango Melody Blends. I added colour only to the top and bottom of the flowers, leaving white space in the middle of the petals. I then added some colour to the centre of the flowers with Smoky Slate Blends. Both flowers were fussy cut and layered on a 2″ Circle Punch. Basic Black Cardstock leaves were cut with the Forever Greenery Dies.
The diecut sentiment is cut with the Always Dies. I’ve paired this with a stamped sentiment from the Forever & Always Stamp Set. Three Gold Metallic Pearls were added to finish of the card.
The next blog on the hop is my fabulously talented and gorgeous friend Denita Wright-Smee.. Click here or on the button below to continue along the hop and check out her gorgeous project.
