Scrabble Jingle Jingle Jingle

Hey Everyone

I created a card not long ago with the Jingle Jingle Jing Stamp Set. For some reason I had stamped up a whole heap of extra sentiments. I was determined to use them, so after a bit of thought, I decided to create a scrabble type card that used up a lot of them.

I combined my letters with leaves and holly from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set. Each of these images were fussy cut out and after a bit of manipulation, I was able to make the leaves work with the scrabble letters.

I also had the ribbon sitting on the desk that had been discarded from another project. I looped this ribbon from the top of the card down the side and adhered with Glue Dots. One Champagne Rhinestone was added for a bit of bling.

Global Design Project #364

Hey Everyone

I had a play in my craft room this afternoon and created a card to play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project Challenge.

Their challenge this week is a CASE challenge. They’ve given us the challenge to cASE the following gorge card from Madeleine Mrotzek.

I absolutely adore her card! For my take on her card, I combined images and dies from the Sending Smiles Bundle. I’ve inked up flowers in the rainbow of colours and cut them out. I then inked up the stems and fussy cut them out also.

The diecut sentiment was already cut out and sitting on my desk. However, I lost the dot so instead of cutting up another one, I added a matt dot to add to the “I”. I chose a stamped sentiment that combines perfectly with the diecut and adhered them down.

To finish off my card, I added three Brushed Brass Butterflies to dance amongst the flowers.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #625

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

How pretty is this inspiration pic?

Stampin’ Up! have given me the perfect DSP to colour and fussy cut out for this challenge. This DSP is from a pack called Abigail Rose. The ledger print DSP is also from this pack. I roughed up the edges of this DSP as well as added Crumb Cake Ink around the edges to give it a worn look. The Basic White Cardstock piece behind the DSP has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and also given the worn and torn edges.

Under the flower images, I added diecuts that I had sitting on my desk and a bow made with the Gold and Satin Edged Ribbon. My favourite sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was added to finish off the card.

The team have created awesome cards for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #557

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema.

The card I created features leaf-y mages from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set. Each of the leaves have been coloured with the Parakeet Party Blends. After I was happy with the shading, I then fussy cut each of them out.

I then shaded the background Basic White Cardstock with Parakeet Party Ink and a Blending Brush. On this shaded background, I added a strip of black and white striped DSP. This DSP is from the Perfectly Penciled DSP pack.

After I stuck this DSP down, I felt my card needed something, so I coloured up some White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with a Parakeet Party Blend and added a bow across the card. I then cut up a Basic Black Cardstock pot from the Splendid Stems Dies and arranged my leaves until I was happy with them.

I fussy cut a sentiment out and raised it up with Dimensionals amongst the leaves and added three Black Matt Dots to the card. Basic Black Cardstock adhered between the Basic White Cardstock and the Parakeet Party card base make this combo a new fav of mine.

The team over at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #556

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with over at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is the uber talented Amy O’Neill – creator of all things glorious!

Amy’s sketch had me picturing so many different stamp sets to use, but I finally decided on the these pretty flower images from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. I coloured these flowers with my Smoky Slate Blends just for something different. The leaves are fussy cut from the designer series paper pack called Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. These leaves have been coloured with the Mint Macaron Blends and fussy cut out.

The striped DSP and the strip across the card are also from the Abigail Rose DSP pack. I added a thin strip of Basic Gray Cardstock under the piece going across the card. On this layer I added a bow made from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack.

The sentiment I’ve layered is from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. This sentiment was stamped and trimmed into two sentiments.

The team have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Z Fold Card for World Card Making Day

Hey Everyone

I created the following card for World Card Making Day. I’m not much of a crafter who makes cards with special folds, but I had need for a card with a gift card holder, so I created the following:

My stamp set of choice was the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set. I’ve combined the images with die cuts from the matching Splendid Stems Dies.

The leafy image was stamped and coloured with my Crumb Cakes Blends. I then fussy cut the image out. I cut up a variety of die cuts and layered them behind the die cut pot. Around this pot I tied some linen thread and underneath it, I took my Ivory Blend and gave the cardstock a watercolour type background.

The designer series paper I’ve used is from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I love the colours in this pack as well as the ledger type paper. I placed this ledger type piece on the right side of the card so you can see it when it’s open and when it’s closed.

The inside of the card has pocket that I created for the gift card as well as a piece of cardstock where you can write your wishes. The little bee is strategically placed to hold the card from slipping out.

A Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon has been added to each side to allow it to be tied together.

Global Design Project #362

Hey Everyone

Happy Sunday! I’ve created this card for the sketch challenge at Global Design Project. Have a look at their fab sketch:

After looking at the sketch for a sec, I decided to fill the background space with leafy images from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set. These images have been stamped and lightly coloured with my Pool Party and Crumb Cake Blends. All of the images have been fussy cut out and raised up on the embossed background with Dimensionals.

The background was given colour with with Pool Party Ink and a Blending Brush. I then took the cardstock and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to add a textured background.

The sentiment I added is also from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set. I added a Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon bow under the sentiment and three Basic Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Here’s what I created:

Just Add Ink #623

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday so that means a new challenge to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week is a colour challenge week. Take a look at the colours we have for you:

I combined these colours to create a Christmas card using two stamp sets – Jingle, Jingle, Jingle and Trees for Sale Stamp Set.

The torn notebook edged cardstock was created using a die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies. I love a torn and worn edge to give my cards texture.

The team have created awesome cards with this weeks challenge colours. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #555

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to play along with. This weeks sketch designer is me! I’ve come up with the following sketch for you all.

My initial sketch pretty much had a shape in every corner, but I tamed it and left only two shapes. My card however, is filled with details.

I love the dramatic-ness of black, white and yellow together. My card was designed around the diecut sentiment. This die is from the Sending Dies. You can purchase the dies separately or as part of the Sending Smiles Bundle.

The flowers I’ve coloured up are from the Happiness Abound Stamp Set. Each of the flowers have been coloured with a combination of every yellow blend that I own and fussy cut out. The leaves that I have tucked under each of the blooms has been fussy cut from the Perfectly Penciled DSP.

The yellow DSP I’ve layered over the Basic Black Cardstock is from the Hues of Happiness DSP. The circle diecut notebook type paper is from the Abigail Rose DSP. I really have given my card a mix of DSPs, images and sentiments!

Hope you get a chance to play along with the sketch. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #554

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our design hostess is my friend from down under across the ditch – Karren Johnson. Take a look at her fab sketch:

I almost went a little vintage-y with this card mainly because the DSP strip I added to the background has that vintage vibe. I had to hold myself back from roughing up the edges and add some ink to the edges to the embossed Basic White Cardstock. The cardstock was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. On this cardstock I added a Kraft Cardstock diecut that I had sitting on my desk, the strip of DSP from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper Pack.

I then took my blends and coloured images from another piece of DSP from the same DSP pack. Once coloured, I then fussy cut out the images and raised them up on Dimensionals. A birthday sentiment was added and a Linen Thread bow.

Three white Classic Matte Dots were added for that bit of bling I like. Because they’re subtle they don’t overpower the roses, which was the look I was going for.

Here’s my card:

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they team have created.
