Freshly Made Sketches #612

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and welcome to the newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the uber talented Linda Callahan..

I really should be creating Christmas cards, but I will try and create some next time. Maybe… The card I designed features pansies in Coastal Cabana and Early Espresso Inks. These pansy images are from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. An unusual combo? Yeah probably, but i was in the mood for this colour combo.

I’ve added texture to the background with an embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders.

Diecut leaves and edgelit die from the Gorgeously Made Dies also feature on my card

The team have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #678

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you. This week our challenge for you is to:

I went an unusual colour combination for leaves for my card to fit the challenge brief. The leaves and branches I’ve added to my card are from the Autumn Leaves dies. I watercoloured Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper with ink and once it was dried, I cut the leaves with the dies. They felt a little bland, so I then flicked Dark Smoky Slate Blend to give them more detail.

The background cardstock was given detail with a Blending Brush, Ink and a mask from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks.

I then added a hand cut sentiment and some gold twine to the layers.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have created wonderful cards for this challenge. Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #611

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch in town! Every Wednesday Freshly Made Sketches brings you a new sketch to play along with. This week our sketch designer is Jen Mitchell – Jen’s card are always elegant and so classy. Make sure you check out her blog and see for yourself.

Someone pointed out to me yesterday that Christmas is only a few weeks ago. I don’t actually believe that just yet but decided I better get myself into gear and make some festive cards.

I chose Christmas trees from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set for my card and kept my card a neutral colour scheme. I embossed the background to give texture to the Basic White Cardstock and added some Silver Threaded Twine.

The team have created awesome projects that will no doubt inspire you. Make sure you head over Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #610

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch challenge to play along with over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully super talented Jennifer Timko.

I am loving a leaf or two at the moment. The leaves I added to my card have been created with Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and the following ink colours: Cajun Craze, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry. I added these colours to the paper in random places, waited for the paper to dry and then diecut the leaves out with the Autumn Leaves Dies.

There’s a die in this set that creates tiny dotted strips. I diecut the background cardstock three times with this die to emulate the strips in the sketch. I then set about shading and ink flicking the background. Once I was happy with the background, I placed the leaves on Dimensionals and added some diecut branches.

The sentiment I have used is from the matching stamp set to the dies. It’s called Autumn Leaves Stamp Set. These sentiments are all seperate but I liked them grouped together to say everything I want to say to a friend.

Finally, i added some ribbon from the Copper and Natural Ribbon Combo Pack. I’ve used the copper ribbon and kind of looped it around so it’s not really in a bow. It’s probs a little hard to see as it blends with the leaves.

The team have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Make sure you head to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #609

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and another new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the super talented Judy Rozema.

My card started off with these stamped flowers from the Two Tone Flora Stamp Set. I had them sitting on my desk left over from another project, so I can’t even remember what colours I used for them.

Also sitting on my desk were the pre-cut leaves from the Textured Floral Dies. These have been cut with Pool Party Cardstock. I placed these flowers and leaves over a piece of cardstock that has been shaded with Pool Party Ink and a Blending Brush. I flicked ink over the background with the Dark Night of Navy Blend before I stuck down my flowers and leaves.

The designer series paper I added in the background and strips are from the Countryside Inn DSP pack. I then added a thank you sentiment and a single pearl for a bit of blingyness.

The team have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project #415

Hey Everyone

A weekend at home means I got to craft on both Saturday and Sunday!. The challenge I’ve created my card for is the theme challenge at Global Design Project. This week their theme challenge is Pattern.

I took out one of my masks from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and thought I’d try a two toned effect with the shading. The first layer I shaded was Fresh Freesia Ink. I then too my Highland Heather Ink and added touches to the top of each mosaic shape. It took longer than expected….but I liked the effect in the end.

I diecut some leaves from the Textured Floral Dies and diecut two banners from the Nested Essentials Dies. The largest one was cut with Berry Burst Cardstock. To bring more Berry Burst into the card, I matted this decorated piece of cardstock with it.

As I wanted to create a birthday card for a little girl, I took the lion image from the Little Dreamers Stamp Set and coloured it with my Crumb Cake Blends and the star with Berry Burst Blends.

Just Add Ink #674

Hey Everyone

Our latest challenge at Just Add Ink, is for you to create a project using the following colours:

I didn’t know how much I would love this colour combo until i started creating my card. Usually when I have 4 colours that I don’t know how to combine, i keep a mostly white card and add touches of the colours. But this time, I found it really easy to layer/combine these colours.

I think the Night of Flight Stamp Set and the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set/Dies were made for each other. I stamped my butterflies with Black Memento Ink and coloured the butterflies with a combination of Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst and Pretty Peacock Blends. I then took the retired White Gel Pen and added highlights on my butterflies. They were then fussy cut out.

I took a piece of Basic White Cardstock and diecut the edge of it with the book edge die. To this piece, I then placed it on my trimmer and scored lines into the cardstock. I then took the Light Basic Blend and flicked ink on to it from the Light Basic Black Blend.

I embossed the Pretty Peacock Cardstock to add more texture and roughed up all the edges of each piece of cardstock to give a vintage-y feel.

To add gold to my card, I took a leafy die from the Gorgeously Made Dies and cut two of them. To create length to my gold foil leaf, I cut two of them and joined them together. The join of them has been hidden by the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #607

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. this week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Amy O’Neill.

I added leaves and branches created with Autumn Leaves Stamp Set and Autumn Leaves Dies. The stamped leaves have been created by adding markers directly to the stamp. I then huffed on the stamp and stamped the image on to Basic White Cardstock. I then fussy cut the leaves out.

The branches were created with Early Espresso Cardstock and dies from the Autumn Leave Dies. I added two frame diecuts – one with Pecan Pie Cardstock and the second one of Basic White Cardstock – this has a sentiment stamped on it.

Behind the leaves i added a Basic White Cardstock that has been shaded with Crumb Cake Ink and a mask from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. I then added some of the gorgeous copper ribbon from the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo.

The team have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #606

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week it’s my turn to design the sketch. Here’s the sketch I designed for you to play along with:

I received the Merriest Trees Bundle recently and decided this challenge was the one to give the products a run.

I stamped one of the trees from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set in Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia Inks. The second tree was stamped in Pebbled Path Ink. Both of these trees were cut with the Merriest Tree Dies.

The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped and die cut out with a tree die for something different.

To a little bling to the tree, I took Gold Foil Carstock and cut rows of fights and adhered them to the pink tree.

I then stamped up a combination of the present images from the same stamp set and cut them out with the matching dies.

I took my new Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, some Bubble Bath Ink and a Blending Brush and shaded the background to add a snowflaked background.

The team have created cards that make my sketch look awesome! Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
