Hey Everyone
Welcome to my blog and the newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch was designed by the wonderfully talented Kim Singdahlsen.
I pulled out my all-time favourite stamp set – Friends are Like Seashells Stamp Set. After stamping all the shells, I coloured them with a combination of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Blends. After they were coloured, I cut them out ready for layering.
The background cardstock was given colour with a Blending Brush and Pool Party Ink. I then took the ink splatters stamp and Pool Party Ink and stamped over the blended area.
I cut 3 strips of cardstock – Sahara Sand, Pacific Point and Pool Party. All 3 were torn on one side and adhered on the blended cardstock. I then took some Linen Thread and looped it around the card. The shells and sentiment were then placed with some shells raised up with Dimensionals.
Here’s my card:
The girls at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers
Narelle
This is such a beautiful card! I love how each card you make with this set is so different and so pretty! Love the background and the torn strips! Just fabulous!
Gorgeous! The shells are truly amazing and I love the soft background with the brush and splatters, then with the torn stripes!
Wonderful card. – The beach is one of my favorite places ever to visit though I seldom get to go. – Your card makes me want to be on the coast now. – Love the use of the torn paper for the stripped element of the sketch and the linen thread.
Our beach season is fading away which means yours is heating up! Love the card!
You make such gorgeous cards with this set and this one is no exception!
Amazing coloring! And a super inventive take on the sketch!
Love these seashells and your beautiful details on this!
What a beautiful nautical card, Narelle! Those seashells are gorgeous and I love the three torned paper strips for the strips of the sketch. It adds a lovely creative touch.
