Just Add Ink #556

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Friday and a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

Slimline cards are really on trend and I am seeing there everywhere. I love a slimline card as it gives me extra space to layers lots of images.

The stamp set I’ve featured on my card is called Sailing Home Stamp Set. The lighthouse image has been stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with a combination of Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Blends. The sailing boat image has been given colour with Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and a touch of Pool Party Blends. The compass and anchor images have been given a quick colour with the Light Soft Suede Blend.

To create a soft background for the images, I took a Blending Brush and some Pool Party Ink and blended some ink until I achieved the look I wanted. The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created awesome slimline cards. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created. We would love it if you could play along.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #554

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and welcome to a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

This challenge made me pause for more than it should’ve…. In the end I went with green and gold. The green I’ve added to my card is in the flowers I’ve used. I’ve used Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen Inks to stamp the flowers from the Art Gallery Stamp Set. The centre of the flowers have been coloured with the Dark Mango Melody Blend. I fussy cut both of these flowers out and adhered them to a gold die cut from the retired Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

The DSP I’ve layered in the background also has gold in it. It’s from the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper pack. I couldn’t stop at just that. I added some Gold Metallic Pearls and some gold bakers twine. So basically my card is gold galore!

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that will inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week is an inspiration picture challenge. Take a look at the bright challenge we have for you:

As you can see, I’ve taken inspiration from the flowers in the picture as well as the colours. The stamp set I’ve used for my flowers is called Art Gallery Stamp Set. I stamped the base layer of the flower with Daffodil Delight Ink and the second layer with Pale Papaya Ink. The leafy images, also from the Arty Gallery Stamp set have been stamped with Soft Succulent Ink and fussy cut out.

The strip of DSP I’ve added to my card is from the Hand Penned Memories and More Pack. This pack is not only for scrapbooking, you can use the many pieces to add to your cards.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards, all so very different using elements from the inspiration pic. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #550

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week is a colour challenge. Have a look at the colours we have for you to play along with:

So this is a colour combo that I would have NEVER tried if not for this challenge. I have to say that I absolutely adore it! I’ve kept my card mostly white with small amounts of the challenge colours.

I’ve chosen leaves stamped from the Forever Fern Stamp Set. The leaves were lightly coloured with Shaded Spruce and fussy cut out. The butterflies are from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. These have been coloured with both Poppy Parade and Petal Pink Inks. The sentiment I’ve used is from the Forever Friend Stamp Set. I added some ink splatters to the background – these are from the Forever Fern Stamp Set also.

The team at Just Add Ink have created lovely cards using these challenge colours. Take a look at the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #548

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Just Add Ink to play along with. This week is a sketch week. Take a look at the cool sketch we have for you:

The Geared Up Garage Stamp Set is retiring soon and I was reminded I needed to stock up on masculine cards. The vintage car image was stamped in Black Memento Ink and watercoloured with light shading of Mossy Meadow Ink. I’ve adhered a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to a Crumb Cake Cardstock card base. I then stamped a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the grungy stamp in Crumb Cake Ink.

Once the layered were stuck down, I added a strip of Mossy Meadow Cardstock, Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim, a Whisper White Cardstock circle and a die cut piece from the Garage Gear Dies. Once this piece was cut out, I took a Journalling Pen and drew a line around the edge of the cardstock. The sentiment, also from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, finished off the card.

As always, the team have created wonderful cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #546

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is to:

This is such an interesting challenge and one that tested me. I had to google exactly what it meant.

My card has been created with the Garage Gear Dies as the main focus on my card. I had a senior moment (even though I’m not at the senior age) and forgot to add the pretty butterflies I created to add on the card. I only realised after I’d photographed it and loaded it to our page. Too late to add them and take another photograph after a long day at work….

To create the background I took a die cut Forever Gold Laser-Cut Speciality piece and daubed randomly over the top of the white side with Soft Suede Ink. I then took the script words stamp from the Very Versailles Stamp Set and stamped twice in Crumb Cake Ink. To finish off the background piece of cardstock, I took a Blending Brush and added Crumb Cake Ink to the roughed up edges. I matted this with a piece of Pool Party Cardstock, also roughed up.

I took some Linen Thread and stapled the ends of the thread to the cardstock and wrapped the other end around my cardstock. I then stuck it all together and adhered the layers to a Sahara Sand Cardstock base. The pearls that finished off my card have been coloured with the Light Bermuda Bay Blend.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards for this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #542

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday, so that means a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week is an inspiration picture challenge. Take a look at the inspiration pic we have for you:

I wanted to created a background with texture like the stone wall in the inspiration pic. I gave some texture to the Whisper White Cardstock with the Painted 3D Embossing Folder. I then took some Smoky Slate Ink and my Blending Brush and added touches of ink to the raised areas on the cardstock to give it a marbled look.

The stamp set I’ve used is the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set. I applied colour directly to the palm tree images with my markers, huffed on them and stamped them on to cardstock. I then fussy cut the images out. The flowers have been coloured with Flirty Flamingo Blends and fussy cut out. The sentiment I’ve added to my card is also from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects to inspire you. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #540

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you to play along with. This week is a colour challenge. Take a look at the combo we have for you:

The stamp set I’ve chosen to use for this challenge is the Free As A Bird Stamp Set. Each of my birds have been given a light colour with the Seaside Spray Blends and Misty Moonlight Blends. The branches and leaves in the image have been given colour with the Just Jade Blends. To add Blushing Bride, I watercoloured the tiny flowers with Blushing Bride Ink. I also added a Blushing Bride Foil circle punch and layered this under the images.

The sentiment I’ve added to my card is also from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set. To add some texture to the Whisper White Cardstock, I embossed the cardstock with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Because you can never have too many details, I added some Bakers Twine.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful inspiration for you. Head over to the Just Add Ink challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #538

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week is a sketch challenge by Patrice. Take a look at the sketch:

I couldn’t help myself. I had to use the fabulous products from the Love You Always Suite. The stamp set and the matching Always Dies are my favourite! The flowers from the Forever and Always Stamp Set are perfect for colouring. I’ve given them colour with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Blends. I gave the leaves some colour with the Smoky Slate Blends.

The leaf die that I’ve used is from the Forever Flourishing Dies. The background Whisper White Cardstock has been embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The stamp sentiment is from the Forever and Always Stamp Set that is paired with the diecut sentiment from the Always Dies.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the sketch. Pop over to the challenge and see what the team have created. We would love it if you could play along too!

Just Add Ink #535

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

This challenge had me scratching my head as I don’t have many sets that have magical creatures in them. I had to find an old retired stamp set called New Wonders Stamp Set. This set has images of fairies that would work well for journals. Perfect challenge for me to create journals for my great nieces to go with their Christmas presents!

I personalised these journals using the Playful Alphabet Dies. The first journal has Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape colours. The designer series paper I’ve used on both journals is from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack. I’ve cut Pool Party Cardstock trees with the Pine Woods Dies to create a scene for my fairies. Journals are a great way to use of tons of current and retired ribbons to jazz up the spine of the journals.

I created a Magenta Madness and Melon Mambo coloured journal for my second niece with Pool Party trees and gold gems for that bit of bling that little girls like. Not only little girls – I love me some bling too!

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects using the brief for this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.
