Just Add Ink #721

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday, so that means we have a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is an inspiration picture challenge. I just love the colours in these pics.

I’ve combined a couple of stamp sets here – the Sentimental Wishes Stamp Set and the retired Notes of Nature Stamp Set. The Notes of Nature stamps gave me the typed background that were in some of the photos.

I then stamped the images from the Sentimental Wishes Stamp Set and lightly coloured them with a combination of my brown and ivory blends. Each of the images were fussy cut out and layered over the stamped background.

I then chose a piece of Nests of Winter DSP as it matched the neutral tones I was going for.

Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #687

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is a sketch challenge. Take a look at the fab sketch we have for you to play along with:

I’ve created a grungy leafy card made with the Noters of Nature Stamp Set and Notes of Nature Dies. I love the combination of background stamps and leaves this set has. I’ve added in some die cut leaves made with the Notes of Nature Dies to the side of the sketch as well as a sentiment and twine. The strip of DSP I took inspiration from for the colour scheme on my card is called Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper.

The team have created awesome cards with this sketch, make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project #368

Hey Everyone

Had a bit of time today to play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project. This week the challenge is a CASE challenge. The team are CASEing this gorgeous card below from the super talented Stesha Bloodhart.

I kept my card fairly neutral toned like Stesha’s and added pops of colours with the Cajun Craze ink I added to the Sunflowers. These sunflowers and leaves are from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. I have more need for a birthday card so I added a sentiment from the You’re a Peach Stamp Set instead of one of the sentiments in the sunflowers set.

I added pieces of DSP from the Abigail Rose DSP pack. I roughed up the edges of both pieces of paper and used a dauber to add some Crumb Cake Ink also.

To add extra layers, I cut a square of Basic White Cardstock and some banner die cuts with the Stylish Shapes Dies. These die cuts were placed under the flowers and a Linen Thread bow was added.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #625

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

How pretty is this inspiration pic?

Stampin’ Up! have given me the perfect DSP to colour and fussy cut out for this challenge. This DSP is from a pack called Abigail Rose. The ledger print DSP is also from this pack. I roughed up the edges of this DSP as well as added Crumb Cake Ink around the edges to give it a worn look. The Basic White Cardstock piece behind the DSP has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and also given the worn and torn edges.

Under the flower images, I added diecuts that I had sitting on my desk and a bow made with the Gold and Satin Edged Ribbon. My favourite sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was added to finish off the card.

The team have created awesome cards for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #618

Hey Everyone

Happy Friday! The card I’m sharing today is for this weeks colour challenge at Just Add Ink. Take a look at the challenge colours:

I am ashamed to say that I have never purchased a pack of Pacific Point Cardstock…. The ink I had, had never even been opened…. It’s just a colour I have barely ever reached for except for this challenge…. But I have to say, I actually really love the colour and will make sure I don’t neglect it ever again!

I’ve created a worn and torn edged flowery card with a vintage-y vibe. The challenge colours have been featured in the flowers and leaves as well as carrying over to the cardstock.

The flowers, from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set, have been lightly watercoloured in Pacific Point and Crumb Cake Inks. The leaves were lightly watercoloured with Old Olive Ink. Both flower images and leaves were fussy cut out. The sentiment is also from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. I’ve used a circle die to cut this sentiment out.

The cardstock behind my flowers has been embossed with the Bricks and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I then took a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake Ink and blended the bricks with ink.

Under this embossed piece, I took a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock and tore the edge on one side to add to the vintage theme.

Some ribbon finished off my card. I cut a piece of Natural Finish Ribbon in half and gathered it on the right side of the card, adhering it with Glue Dots.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome cards using this weeks colours. Make sure you head over to challenge and check out their inspiration.

Just Add Ink #597

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This is our challenge is:

The two I’ve chpsen from the challenge is flowers and paper.

The flowers and bird image are from the Friendly Hello Stamp Set. The colours of the flowers were chosen to match the designer series paper I chose. This DSP is from the Friendly Hello DSP pack. Both of these products were available during the Sale-A-Bration period. I’ve added die cuts with the Tasteful Labels Dies. The circle die was crimped with my retired crimping tool.

Here’s my card:

Colour INKspiration #29

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Colour Challenge Blog Hop!

If you have been hopping along you will have come from Mel Pagano’s awesome card.  If not, don’t worry you can follow the hop and start again.  Colour INKspiration is a Facebook Group where you can share your card and be inspired by the creativity there.

Take a look at these gorgeous colours we have for you to create your projects:

I was in love with these colours as soon as I saw them – they called out to my past vintage style.  After I completed my card I was trying to work out if my card still fit in the category of vintage……I’ve decided it could be considered “clean vintage” (if there’s such a thing!).

These roses from Graceful Garden definitely fit vintage.  They were the first set I thought of when I saw the inspiration pic. The sentiment and background stamp are both from Graceful Garden too.  For once I have used stamps from the one stamp set on my card!  The flowers and leaves are lightly watercoloured with my Aqua Painter.

The next hop along the way is the wonderfully talented Jacque Williams.  You’re going to love her project!

The Card Concept #37

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new challenge and a new inspiration picture for you at The Card Concept. Take a look:

CC37pic

Ok, so I am not overly loving my card. Don’t know what it was but I really struggled.  Maybe it was the combination of so many bright colours – but I really couldn’t get my shabby on with them.  My background was created by watercolouring a whole heaps of colours to some watercolour paper and sponging in spots that needed a little more colour.  Here’s what I came up with:

The team has provided wonderful inspiration for you – head over to The Card Concept and check them out.

The Card Concept #36

Hey Everyone

I really love challenges as they make me try different colour combos that I would never usually try.  Take a look at the fab inspiration pic we have for you at The Card Concept.

CC36pic

I tried a new-to-me technique – the emboss resist technique.  I heat embossed Stampin’ Up!s En Francais with Clear Embossing Powder.  I then sponged Slate Gray and Morning Meadow ink in patches and then wiped away the excess with a paper towel.  I then set about fussy cutting (gee did they take time!) the fern fronds and flower from Butterfly Basics.  Here’s my card:

We’d love for you to join us with our challenge. Head over to The Card Concept and link up a card. While you’re there, take a look at the wonderful inspiration from the design team.
