Freshly Made Sketches #637

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is Karren Johnson who is the creator of all things gorgeous.

I am still loving the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set….. I can’t help but want to reach it for it every time I want to create atm…

I’ve combined the following colours for this card – Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. The squares I’ve added are from a discarded piece of cardstock that i had laying on my desk. This piece was embossed with the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder that was shaded with Pool Party Ink to make the embossed areas stand out.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

Freshly Made Sketches #634

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for a new challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Kim Siingdahlsen.

This sketch is so cool with its diagonal sentiment. As soon as I saw it, I thought the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set would work well with a combination of plane and clouds.

After colouring both the clouds and plane, I fussy cut out the images and set them aside until I worked out which DSP I would use. The striped piece of DSP is from the Country Lace DSP pack and I thought this neutral piece would work as the perfect base for my layers.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #627

Hey Everyone

How’s about a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches? Yes pls! This week our sketch has been designed by Karren Johnson whose cards always inspire me.

The card i created features a combination of the paintbrush from Trusty Tools Stamp Set and dies from the Bright Skies Dies and Excellent Egg Dies.

I started my card with cutting die cuts in a rainbow of colours with the rickrack type die from the Excellent Eggs Dies. I then took the matching Blends and coloured the brush bristles in the same colours.

I took my Bright Skies Dies and cut 3 of diecuts from this set. While i was at it, I cut a sun diecut to add to the layers.

I had a strip of DSP from Natures Sweetness DSP pack, so this was added to the bottom of the card. I then took the Light Night of Navy Blend and flicked ink on the Basic White Cardstock. My layers were then all added and adhered down.

Freshly Made Sketches #621

Hey Everyone

It’s that time of the week for a new sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented and loviest person Jen Timko.

Take a look at her fab sketch:

I saw those circles and thought the Lighter Than Air Suite would work really well for my card. The balloons have been created with images fussy cut from the Lighter Than Air DSP. I then added diecuts cut with the Hot Air Balloon Dies. The sentiment is from the Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set. I added some little bird images from a set in my retired stash as I wanted to fill the space on the card.

The background was created with a piece of cardstock that I hand cut to resemble cloud shapes. I then took a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue Ink to create the look of clouds.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #613

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Kim Singdahlsen.

I loooooove a great sketch like this. So easy to come up with a card when you’ve got a design as a starting point for your card.

I added a textured background, fake watercoloured background and layered oceanic images. I like pairing sets as I get more use out of them if they work really well together. The fish and lure images I’ve added are from the Gone Fishing Stamp Set. I added some coral that has been diecut with the Beauty of the Deep Dies.

The team have created wonderful projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project $411

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Global Design Project that I managed to create a card for. This week their challenge is to create a project with the theme “outdoors”.

For my outdoors theme, I create a masculine card for a special man in the family. He’s a harley lover so I inked up the Legendary Ride Stamp Set for my card. I played around with a two-toned bike, but in the end, I went with a black bike as it worked better.

This card has been made using all scraps and offcuts on my desk. Gotta love it when you can use up all strips and unused cardstock laying around.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #404

Hey Everyone

The card I’ve created today is for the latest challenge at Global Design Project. This week their challenge is to CASE this fab project from Susan Wong:

I created a card with tags and ribbon detail like Susan’s creation. I’ve gone with a fun birthday card using the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set.

The colours I’ve used on my card are Pebbled Path, Coastal Cabana and Gray Granite. I feel like this card could be a feminine and a masculine card.

Freshly Made Sketches #593

Hey Everyone

Loving this weeks sketch by Karren Johnson over at Freshly Made Sketches. I knew exactly which stamp set and colours I was going to use as soon as I saw it!

The stamp set that features on my card is a new-to-me one called – Gone Fishing Stamp Set. I’ve also paired it with the Gone Fishing Dies. The pieces of coral I have cut are from the Beauty of the Deep Dies. I like how these can work with my fish and sinker/floaty images.

Here’s my masculine fishy card:

Freshly Made Sketches #585

Hey Everyone

Love Wednesday’s as that means a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at her cool sketch:

For some reason the strips in the sketch had me wanting to use the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and matching Seaside Bay Dies.

I started by stamping a couple of birds from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and coloured them with my Boho Blue Blends and Light Night of Navy Blends. I then stamped the oyster shell image and lightly coloured it with the Ivory Blend. I then took the Color Lifter and removed quite a bit of the ink.

I then took some Crumb Cake Cardstock and the oyster shell die to cut the shell. I then took a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake Ink and added touches of ink to the edges of the die cut. I took the small shell die and Basic White Cardstock and cut out the shell. I also added touches of Crumb Cake Ink to the edges of this shell.

There are leafy dies in the Seaside Bay Dies, but they are a little smaller than what I wanted for my card, so I took my scissors and created my own.

Once all my fancy fits were done, I layered them all on strips of Boho Blue Cardstock. I took some Linen Thread that I twisted and added to my layers. It felt a bit clean, so I covered up my images with paper, took my Light Night of Navy Blend and flicked ink splatters over the cardstock.

The team have created awesome cards using Judy’s sketch. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #583

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our fab sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Kim Singdahlsen.

I’ve gone with a neutral toned masculine card using the Lighthouse Dies from Stampin Up!. I cut out the lighthouse with a combination of Basic White and Kraft Cardstock.

The background, and pretty much all of my card, was made up with strips of cardstock that I had laying on my desk. It feels so good to be able to use up pieces of discarded strips.

To add interest to the background I flicked ink to the white cardstock with the Light Black Blend. I added a torn piece of ribbon to the lighthouse and some cloud die cuts. These were added because I like to add details to all of my cards.
