Just Add Ink #573 – Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the first challenge for Just Add Ink for 2021!

Our challenge is a fun one and it’s also a blog hop. Make sure you check out all of the teams blogs and when you’re finished, head over to Just Add Ink and link up your own project.

I created not one, but two cards for this challenge using the Forever & Always Stamp Set with the matching Always Dies.

The first card I created is a clean creation with a strip of my newest favourite DSP pack – True Love Designer Series Paper. The striped DSP is matted with Basic Black Cardstock. The flower from the Forever & Always Stamp Set has been coloured with lightly with my So Saffron and Mango Melody Blends. The flower was then fussy cut out. The leaves that I’ve added to the card are cut with the Forever Greenery Dies. Why black you might ask? I think because I like how striking they look with the yellow flower.

The diecut sentiment was cut with Always Dies. I’ve cut the sentiment in Basic Black Cardstock and used the matching mat die to create a Whisper White base for it. I then paired it with the stamped sentiments from the Forever & Always Stamp Set. As I seem to always do, I added three Gold Metallic Pearl embellishments.

I spent a bit more time on the second card as I used my new Blending Brushes to create an ombre effect background with a combination of So Saffron and Crushed Curry Inks. This was to create a sunset type background like the sunset in the inspiration picture.

The flowers were given the quickest colour with my So Saffron and Mango Melody Blends. I added colour only to the top and bottom of the flowers, leaving white space in the middle of the petals. I then added some colour to the centre of the flowers with Smoky Slate Blends. Both flowers were fussy cut and layered on a 2″ Circle Punch. Basic Black Cardstock leaves were cut with the Forever Greenery Dies.

The diecut sentiment is cut with the Always Dies. I’ve paired this with a stamped sentiment from the Forever & Always Stamp Set. Three Gold Metallic Pearls were added to finish of the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #468

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for us to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is none other than the fabulously talented Linda Callahan.

One of my new stamp sets that had yet to see ink is called Brushed Blooms Stamp Set . I decided to ink it up in Blushing Bridge Ink and fussy cut the flowers out. I took a gray watercolour pencil and added some shadow lines to the roses. I stamped some bud images and added them to the flowers. I had the fussy cut leaves from Forever Greenery DSP sitting on my desk, so I added them to the blooms.

The ombre DSP in the background is from the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper pack. This pack can be yours free when you spend $90 during the Sale-A-Bration period. The background cardstock has been embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

The Clean Team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards. Make sure you pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #273

Hey Everyone

This is my second post today! Go me! This card was made using the colour challenge at Global Design Project.

I really love the combination of these pretty colours together.

To start my card, I layered pieces of Night of Navy and Soft Seam Foam Cardstocks at angles. I took a piece of white cardstock and used my Light Soft Sea Foam Blend to create a water-washed background. I had a strip of Paper Blooms DSP that I wanted to incorporate on my card, so I placed a thin strip along the main panel.

The stamp set I’ve used on my card is called Dressed To Impress Stamp Set. The lippy image was given colour with Night of Navy Ink and an Aqua Painter and the bottle of perfume with Petal Pink Blends and a light watercolour with Night of Navy Ink to the lid.

The sentiment I’ve used is from the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set. Under this sentiment, I’ve gather some white ribbon. The little flowers I’ve used is also from the same stamp set – these have been coloured with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Blends. Three Basic Rhinestones finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

CAS(E) This Sketch #403

Hey Everyone

Love me a classic clean sketch. The newest sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch is one of those. Take a look at their sketch:

I’ve been playing around all weekend with my floral stamp sets , so I decided to give the florals a break and create a card featuring the Friends are Like Seashells Stamp Set.

I love colouring. I find it really relaxing and find fussy cutting even more relaxing. The largest shell has been given a small amount of colour with Pool Party Blends and the Light Bermuda Bay Blend. The second shell is shaded with my Smoky Slate Blends. The little starfish has been given colour with the Bermuda Bay Blends. I then took my Stampin’ Blends Colour Lifter and took some colour from the centre of the starfish so it didn’t look all one tone.

To create the background of the card, I added some ink splatters in Black Memento Ink to the card base and then gave it some texture with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I layered a piece of Peony Garden DSP, that I had sitting on my desk, and a torn piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock to the card base. To this, I then added a piece of Braided Linen Trim.

Once all the shells were placed on the card, I then added a sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #467

Hey Everyone

We’re back! The Clean Team at Freshly Made Sketches are back with a new sketch challenge. Our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jen Mitchell.

I’ve taken these gorgeous flowers from the Forever & Always Stamp Set and quickly coloured them with a combination of Purple Posy and Highland Heather Blends. The leaves have been fussy cut from a piece of DSP from the True Love Designer Series Paper pack. The diecut sentiment that I’ve created have been cut with the Always Dies. The stamped sentiment is also from the Forever & Always Stamp Set. As everything was layered on the right side of the card, I stamped the ink splatters image from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set.

Pop over to the challenge and see what wonderful inspiration the team have provided for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #272-CASE The Designer

Hey Everyone

I hope everyone had the most amazing Christmas and New Year! I’m excited to be back and creating in my craft room – I haven’t had a chance to get crafty since the week before Christmas. The card I’m sharing today is for the CASE The Designer Challenge at the Global Design Project. Take a look at Kerstin’s gorgeous card we got to CASE.

Even though I have new goodies from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue on my desk (this catalogue is available to order from on 5th January), I pulled out the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. I gave my sunflowers colour with a combination of every yellow Blend I own. I then took my dark Smoky Slate Blend and added shading to the petals. The centre of the sunflowers were coloured with the Smoky Slate Blends. The leaves were given colour with Soft Seam Foam Blends and then fussy cut out.

The card base was given with a combination of So Saffron and Crushed Curry Ink. I took a strip of Basic Black Cardstock and tore the edge of it to mimic the die cut edgelit. The strip of DSP is from the Love You Always Designer Series Paper pack – I am in LOVE with this pack already. Black and white DSP is always a fav of mine. The sentiment and ink splatters are from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp Set.

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Posted For You Bundle

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the last 2020 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for the year.

I’m excited to share these projects with you but at the same time, I’m sad as this is my final hop as part of this amazing, fun and very talented team. The projects we have created are all made with the Posted For You Bundle.

This bundle consists of a fabulous stamp set – called Postage Due Stamp Set – with images and sentiments that fit the coordinating Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

The first card I created has an embossed background with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and an ink splattered background – created with my Dark Smoky Slate Blend. I took some Cardstock and Sahara Sand Cardstock and punched out four rectangles with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. I played around with layering until I came up with the following layout. I then punched a Whisper White rectangle so the flower images popped with a white background. The flower images were stamped with Black Memento Ink and coloured with a combination of Magenta Madness and Smoky Slate Blends. I fussy cut these out and raised them up with Dimensionals. I took the circular postage stamp image and hand cut around the image. The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Postage Due Stamp Set – I’ve used the happy birthday sentiment on this card – as you can never have too many birthday cards in your stash. To finish off this card I added three Metallic Pearls in a triangle pattern.

The second card I created has a daubed Magenta Madness background that has been matted with a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock. I took my Dark Smoky Slate Blend and flicked some ink by taking the nib of the blend and flicking it against the lid. I then punched three pieces of cardstock with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and layered them with a circle punch of Vellum Cardstock. I stamped the round postage stamp image and cut this image out by hand. I added a strip of Basic Gray Cardstock and layered it under a sentiment from the Postage Due Stamp Set. Three Metallic Pearls finished of this card similarly to the first card. To add some texture, I ran my finger around the Whisper White Cardstock and roughed up the edges.

Take a look below at all of the pretty projects the team have created for you.

Just Add Ink #535

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

This challenge had me scratching my head as I don’t have many sets that have magical creatures in them. I had to find an old retired stamp set called New Wonders Stamp Set. This set has images of fairies that would work well for journals. Perfect challenge for me to create journals for my great nieces to go with their Christmas presents!

I personalised these journals using the Playful Alphabet Dies. The first journal has Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape colours. The designer series paper I’ve used on both journals is from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack. I’ve cut Pool Party Cardstock trees with the Pine Woods Dies to create a scene for my fairies. Journals are a great way to use of tons of current and retired ribbons to jazz up the spine of the journals.

I created a Magenta Madness and Melon Mambo coloured journal for my second niece with Pool Party trees and gold gems for that bit of bling that little girls like. Not only little girls – I love me some bling too!

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects using the brief for this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #465

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Wednesday and another sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented and really lovely lady Jacquie Southas.

I’ve gone with a floral creation using the Band Together Stamp Set. I’ve coloured my flowers with a combination of Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate Blends. The leaves have been given a really light colour with the Light Pool Party Blend. The designer series papers I’ve used in the background is a piece of Christmas DSP called Snowflake Splendor DSP. This DSP has been matted with a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock. The tags I’ve created are made with Whisper White and Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I’ve tied them together with some white ribbon and twine. The sentiment I’ve added to my card is also from the Band Together Stamp Set.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #464

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means a new sketch challenge for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the uber talented Judy Rozema.

I’m having a break from Christmas for this challenge. I’ve chosen to create a masculine card with the sketch. The stamp set I’ve used is called Sailing Home Stamp Set. I’ve kept my colours simple – Smoky Slate in the DSP, lighthouse lightly coloured with my Mint Macaron Blends and a diecut in Mint Macaron Cardstock.

To add little interest, I added some Braided Linen Trim and stamped the bird image from the Sailing Home Stamp Set.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created amazing cards with Judy’s sketch. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
