Just Add Ink #707

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink was to create a card using the following sketch:

I decided to use my circle dies and cut out the half circle space. I then placed a piece of woodgrain DSP behind it. I then added some background stamping and ink flicking to age the cardstock. I then created some leaves by adding Old Olive Ink to Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and took an Aqua Painter to add ink. Once the paper was dry, I then took the Autumn Leaves Dies and cut out three leaves. I wanted to add more definition to the leaves, so I add some Cajun Craze Ink highlights and flicked some ink over them.

Freshly Made Sketches #641

Hey Everyone

The newest sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jen Timko – make sure you head over to her blog and see her gorgeous creations.

I couldn’t go past the Layers of Beauty Stamp Set to fill the space on my card. I added a circle diecut made with the Stylish Shapes Dies under the flowers and arranged them as though they were falling down the card.

I added a strip of pretty DSP from the Unbounded Beauty DSP pack and stamped a sentiment from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. You can never have too many birthday cards in your stash.

As always, the team have created stunning projects. Make sure you check them out here.

Freshly Made Sketches #639

Hey Everyuone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Amy O’Neill.

Take a look at her fab sketch:

I decided I needed another wedding card for my stash, so Amy’s sketch was just what I needed to create this.

The Stippled Rose Stamp Set with its gorgeous roses are my go-to for elegant florals and have coloured them with Wild Wheat Blends. Wild Wheat Ink has yellow-y gold tones and I have added touches of Basic Beige DSP and cardstock.

As always, I’ve embellished with ribbon and bling for those extra elegant touches.

The team have created awesome inspiration. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches to see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #638

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by me. Take a look at the sketch I’ve created:

The Autumn Leaves Stamp Set and Dies was used on my card. I started by watercolouring Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I then cut out the small and large leaves with dies from the Autumn Leaves Dies. Once the leaves dried, I added more colour in places to get the final look I went with. I then screwed the leaves up in my hand to add dimension and a realness to them. I flicked Dark Smoky Slate Ink over the leaves to create the leaves you see here.

I added some woodgrain DSP from the Country Lace DSP pack as I liked the woodgrain as a background for the leaves.

The team have created wonderful cards. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and sew what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #703

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is for the latest challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is to:

I haven’t used the Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set enough – so I got it out and gave it a workout for this challenge.

I stamped up the balloons in a combo of Real Red and Pumpkin Pie. After stamping them, I fussy cut them out layered them on a circle diecut. The circle diecut has been placed over a piece of DSP from the Unbounded Beauty DSP pack.

I then stamped up clouds from the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set in Summer Splash Ink and took a Blender Pen and moved some of the ink around to give them shading. The clouds were fussy cut out and trimmed to fit around the balloons.

Freshly Made Sketches #637

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is Karren Johnson who is the creator of all things gorgeous.

I am still loving the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set….. I can’t help but want to reach it for it every time I want to create atm…

I’ve combined the following colours for this card – Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. The squares I’ve added are from a discarded piece of cardstock that i had laying on my desk. This piece was embossed with the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder that was shaded with Pool Party Ink to make the embossed areas stand out.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Everyolne

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Cecile Ribon.

Take a look at her fab sketch:

I always love Cecile’s sketches as they are creative and really challenge me.

I recently purchased the A Little Latte Designer Series Paper pack. I chose to fussy cut the images from this pack to use for my card. The only stamping I’ve done for this card is the sentiment. This sentiment is from the Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set.

The team have created awesome cards using Cecile’s sketch. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve crated.

Freshly Made Sketches #634

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for a new challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Kim Siingdahlsen.

This sketch is so cool with its diagonal sentiment. As soon as I saw it, I thought the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set would work well with a combination of plane and clouds.

After colouring both the clouds and plane, I fussy cut out the images and set them aside until I worked out which DSP I would use. The striped piece of DSP is from the Country Lace DSP pack and I thought this neutral piece would work as the perfect base for my layers.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #699

Hey Everyone

Time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink! This weeks challenge is at Just Add Ink is to create a project using the following colours:

I wanted to created a card that may not be the usual colour combo for an underwater creation. I was itching to use the Seaside Wishes Bundle again so I made the challenge colours work for this weeks challenge.

I started by embossing the background with my new Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder. I then took a blending brush and Coastal Cabana Ink and applied ink over the embossing.

I then took the stones like stamp and stamped a path of stones in Starry Sky Ink. The starfish were also inked up in Starry Sky Ink, stamped and fussy cut out. The shells were then stamped in Berry Burst Ink and also fussy cut out.

I layered my embossed/stamped cardstock over a piece of Starry Sky Cardstock and this was then adhered to a Coastal Cabana Cardstock base.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using this weeks challenge colours. Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.
